Roblox plans to hit Wall Street by way of a direct listing

Online gaming unicorn Roblox Corp., which put off plans to go public late last year, has raised $520 million and now plans to hit Wall Street by way of a direct listing.

The San Mateo, Calif., videogame company said it would commence the direct listing after the SEC completes its review process. The number of Class A common shares to be offered hasn't been determined.

One month ago, Dow Jones reported that Roblox delayed its IPO. Reports say the company delayed the IPO after DoorDash and Airbnb shares rose sharply in early trading.

“While once viewed as a gaming platform, Roblox has emerged as a definitive global community connecting millions of people through communication, entertainment and commerce,” Brad Gerstner, CEO of Altimeter, said in the statement. “And as the world moves toward a hybrid future—where online and offline community and learning co-exist—we are proud to back a values-driven business that takes seriously its obligation to build an inclusive, creative, and positive community.”

When is the Roblox stock direct listing date?
Roblox Corporation becoming a publically traded company might not seem like a big deal, but it really is. Roblox has achieved over 100 million monthly active users, which places it above even Minecraft. Microsoft paid $2.5 billion for Minecraft back in 2014 and the video games industry has grown in the years since. Keeping that in mind, investing in Roblox could prove to be very lucrative. So, when is the direct listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) going to happen?

The expected Roblox direct listing date is February 2021. Following its NYSE launch, Roblox stock will be publically available for purchase.

The Roblox ticker symbol will be “RBLX,” though it’s currently unknown what the exact stock price will be. The private valuation of Roblox sits at nearly $30 billion, so it won’t be an entry-level investment.

In an IPO, underwriters facilitate a company's public offering, helping determine matters like the share price and amount of money to be raised. They then buy the company's shares and sell them to investors. Direct listings enable a company's holders to sell their shares directly to investors without the help of underwriters.

"We believe it is important to acknowledge that the current IPO process is far from perfect. Among other things, the structure often imposes relatively high fees on issuers," the SEC said in a recent statement., on the other hand, provides a safe, secure marketplace for players to instantly buy Adopt Me Pets at the cheapest prices. You can check stock of cheap Adopt Me Pets on your server before making order through 24/7 LIVECHAT anytime!
